Mozambican Chicken Bake & Chips


Harvestime Straight Cut Chips
1.5kg chicken thighs
3 tomatoes blanched, chopped and set aside
2 tablespoons crushed garlic
Juice of 2 lemons about 2-3 tablespoons
1 teaspoon brown sugar
3 tablespoons paprika
3 tablespoons hot sauce of choice
1 tablespoon herb seasoning
Salt and pepper


Serves: 4-5 people

Total Time: 60 minutes


  1. Preheat oven to 200 Degrees Celsius
  2. Cook chips according to package instructions
  3. In a pot, heat oil and add the crushed garlic and tomatoes and mix well
  4. Now add the rest of the ingredients to the tomatoes (except the chicken) and allow to simmer for 5 minutes
  5. Allow the mixture to cool and them blitz into a sauce
  6. Spread onto the chicken and bake for 45 minutes until cooked and browned
  7. Serve with chips and side veg
