Inkomazi Fried Chicken


Harvestime Straightcut Chips

1.2 kg Bone in, skin on Chicken Pieces

1 teaspoon garlic powder

3 teaspoons chicken spice

1 teaspoon paprika

2 cups Inkomazi

1 cup Flour

1 teaspoon chilli flakes

3 teaspoons mixed herbs

Salt and pepper

Oil for frying


Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 35 minutes

Serves: 4 - 5


  1. Mix the garlic powder, chicken spice and paprika with salt and pepper and mix with the Inkomazi
  2. Add the chicken to the Inkomazi mixture and refrigerate for about an hour
  3. Next heat the oil
  4. In a large flat bowl, add the flour, chilli flakes, mixed herbs and a little salt and pepper and mix well
  5. Dip the chicken pieces into the flour mixture and fry for about 12 - 15 minutes until crispy and done
  6. Serve with Harvestime Straightcut Chips and gravy
