Beef Sishebo

Ingredients

Harvestime Country Mix

oil

1 kg beef chuck cubed

2 tablespoons flour

Salt and pepper to taste

1 large onion chopped

3 cloves garlic crushed

2 bay leaves Thyme

3 tablespoons Tomato paste

2 cups Beef stock Water as needed

Served with Rice

 

Directions

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 60 -90 minutes

Serves: 4-6 people 

 

  1. Coat beef in flour, salt and pepper 
  2. Heat a pot in medium heat and fry the beef in batches until browned 
  3. Remove the beef and set aside 
  4. To the same pot, add the onions and garlic 
  5. Add the bay leaves and thyme, followed by the tomato paste 
  6. Add in the browned beef and beef stock and allow to cook for an hour to an hour and a half till the meat is soft on medium / low – check regularly to ensure there is enough liquid and it is not drying out. Keep adding liquid if it dries too much 
  7. When meat has softened, add in the Harvestime Country Crop and simmer for 6 minutes 
  8. Serve hot with rice
